“Raise the flag” for a set of 2 vintage 16 oz glass tumblers advertising the iconic Pancho’s Mexican Buffet restaurant chain:
• Made by Anchor Hocking in the mid-70s
• Approx 6” tall with 2.5” diameter at rim
• 16 oz capacity
• Weight 9.2 oz each (18.4 oz per set of 2)
• Sold in sets of 2 (2 sets available)
Founded in El Paso, TX in 1958, Pancho’s eventually expanded to 77 restaurants in the early 90s, primarily in TX, OK, NM, AZ, and LA.
Pancho’s low cost buffet was wildly popular with families and was a favorite of school groups traveling for athletics and academics alike.
The glasses are in great vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Graphics are crisp, though one glass suffered a scrape on Pancho’s belly on just one side (see last photo). The set with the blemish will be sold last and at a discount.
From a smoke-free, but dog-visited home.
