Antique 1868 French Opera Glasses Binoculars Theatre Binoculars

Elegant French Opera Glasses | Theatre Glasses from the mid 1800's Reconstruction Era. Popularized in the 19th century, these glasses were a symbol of status and sophistication. Mark reads: Feb 16, 1868 along with a monogram. Measurement: 3" ; extends to 4" with a width across the widest lenses of 4" Sought-after collectibles, theatre glasses such as these are rare and hard to come by. This pair is in nice antique condition for a piece over a century and a half old. Please see photos for pre-owned patina from use showing some wear to the surfaces as well as to the monogram. Diopter adjustment works well, as does the magnifier.
