Antique Arts + Crafts Black Opal Ring🔮

Bringing you a beautiful antique black opal doublet ring attributed to Australia's famous Arts & Crafts jeweler, Rhoda Wager🔮✨️ c. 1920-1930 The use of opal is interesting because it was the material used by Rhoda in a couple of her exhibition pieces. This can be seen in two of the well documented pieces on the Powerhouse Museum website. Rhoda Wager was born in England in 1875 and moved to Australia and set up her own jewelery workshop producing pieces of jewellery in the form of rings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches between 1921 to 1946, with this ring bring a fine example. Even though her rings were not signed with her mark, she had such a distinct style with her designs and her "signature hallmark" of the double bands put on rings, as seen with this piece. Ring tests as sterling silver. Due to the thin shank, the ring fits larger than what's shown on the mandrel. Would accommodate up to around size 7. . . . . #artsandcrafts #antique #1920s #1930s
