Illustrator is Frederick Polydor Nodder (1770–1800). I purchased this 26 years ago from blue Chip art gallery in NYC: Les Kafka. It has remained in a temperature controlled closet ever since.

FP Nodder was a British natural history artist who illustrated both plants and animals. His images are highly refined, and executed with the most scrupulous adherence to nature. His plates are printed on the best paper.
