Antique Chesapeake Pottery Avalon Faience Oval Bowl & Covered Dish Majolica

Also known as: D. F. Haynes & Co / D.F. Haynes and Son / Haynes, Bennett and Company Clifton Decor was one of the first three lines created by Chesapeake Pottery. It is also "the only line offered by the company that is glazed in the tradition of true Victorian majolica" making it the most classic and conventional. (Etruscan Majolica site) Lovely texture paired with metallic gold and blue / green line drawings of leaves, berries and flowers. Oval bowl measures approximately 6.75” long x 4.75” wide x 1.5” tall Round covered bowl measures approximately 6.75” wide with a 5” wide lid. Bowl itself is 2” tall; with the lid it stands 4.5” tall. Base is 2.75” wide. Please view photos carefully for condition, as these pieces are over 100 years old.
