Rose Medallion is a style of porcelain or a pattern that developed about 1820. It was produced for the Chinese export market largely for European and American consumers
As a general rule the plain "CHINA" mark came into use after 1891 when US federal law required all imports to be marked with their country of origin. The addition of "MADE IN" was required from 1919. If the Rose Medallion piece doesn't have any marks or characters to identify itself, then it is most likely a piece made before 1890. This tea pot is unmarked indicating it is most likely from the pre-1890 period. This bowl was part of a large set of antique rose medallion pieces, most of which are simply marked China indicating age of 1891-1918. It is not unlikely that this tea pot from the set was from an earlier period.
