This antique hand-carved and etched Chinese Pottery probably dates back to the Ming Dynasty or earlier.
It is an amazing depiction of an antique Chinese Yixing Zisha pottery. It is hand-carved and etched with birds, Prunus blossoms, bamboo, and ancient Chinese symbols found on the sides of the square vase/pot/planter. The underside of the square vase/pot/planter is signed with an ancient Chinese Chop Mark.
There is a lot of patina and oxidation inside of this etched pottery. The outside of this pottery is in excellent condition.
According to Yixing Pottery: A Comprehensive Guide, "Yixing clay, also known as Zisha clay, is a specific type of stoneware that originates from the Yixing region in Jiangsu province, China. There are three primary types of Yixing clay: zisha (purple clay), hongni (red clay), and duanni (yellow clay). Each type has unique properties and is used to create Yixing pottery with different characteristics, such as color, texture, and heat retention."
