This is a very unique looking tablecloth, probably from Holland. There are three cut out figures sewed onto the fabric. The technique is called applique. This particular one is very simple, almost primitive-like. Reminds me of some Amish work I've seen before.
The 3 figures on here are interesting though. I believe it's a girl and a boy only, and the boys back. It looks like he is showing off his moves to the girl. 🙂
Anyways, this is made by hand, and the linen fabric also looks home made (handwoven). However, a sewing machine was used to hem it.
Considering that this tablecloth is around a century old or even older, it's in very good condition. The only things I found wrong are 3 small holes close to the edge, and a small yellowish stain near the holes. The stain is only visible under close inspection, it may come out if washed. The holes look like pin holes, no rust around them. I'm selling it as is.
It measures arund 32½" X 32½". The inside square is about 17½" X 17½".
Any questions, let me know. 🙂
