Antique Early American Patterned Glass (EAPG) Handled Celery Vase Side Wheeler Pattern This piece was made by the renowned Riverside Glass Works. It has EAPG status, meaning it dates from between 1850 - 1914. This pattern is known as Side Wheeler" and "consists of panels with zippers, shell" motif. Measurements: 7 1/4" tall, 3 1/2" diameter top and base, 5" outer edge of handle to outer edge of handle. This style of vase is called a "celery" vase because it actually was used to hold - celery(!) - a vegetable considered very healthy during the Victorian era.
