Antique Framed "A Cameo Creation" Portraits - Lady Sheffield by Thomas Gainsborough & Unknown Lady by Sir William Charles Ross RA - RARE Framed Wall Art This is a very nice pair of framed miniature portraits. These are framed in a convex glass with gilded edges and a quilted matting. These portraits appear to be watercolor, but would need to be taken apart to confirm. Approximately 5.5" x 6" The backs read: -Portrait of an Unknown Lady by Sir William Charles Ross, R.A. (Royal Academy of Arts). Sir William Charles (1794-1860) was an English portrait and portrait miniature painter. He became a member of the Royal Academy in 1842. -Lady Sheffield by Thomas Gainsborough (1727-1788) was an English portrait and landscape painter, draughtsman, and printmaker. Gainsborough was also founding member of the Royal Academy of Arts. These a beautiful and rare framed works of art with a rich history and stunning frames.
