Antique French Victorian shoe Buckle SIlver Tone Made in France

Large vintage silver curved victorian buckle - made in France - Marcasite design from cut steel - Parisienne victorian shoe accessory Cut and polished steel jewelry became fashionable first in England and then in Europe beginning in the late eighteenth century. In the end steel jewelry became so fashionable that it was imitated in silver. This made in France and are marked on the back. This has an open slide on the back so that you could attach to a belt, cuff bracelet or wide satin ribbon and give it new life again as an accessory of your choice like a belt, bracelet or hair piece. Perfect for the jewelry crafter. There is one small spot on the corner edge that is a bit rusty, I have not tried to clean or brush it away.
