Antique, early 1900's, hand-painted gold gilded Salt Cellar. Round white porcelain tiny dish with gold trim, blue flowers, green vines, and a gilded gold painted base.
Originally used to hold salt on a dining table, called a salt cellar, these fell out of use with the introduction of salt shakers in the early 1900's. This dainty little dish could certainly still be used for its original purpose for salt or other table spices, but it is also fun to use vintage items for new purposes. You could use this as a ring dish, for small earrings, charms, or other tiny trinkets. It is also a beautiful piece to simply have on display. Charming cottagecore vibes in less than two inches - approximately 1.5 inches diameter, 1 inch tall, half interior depth.
Please note: There is some wear on this item from prior use. Gold paint is worn in a few spots, especially the top rim, as you can clearly see in the photos. Please note that you are purchasing this item in "as is" condition.
