Antique Green Glass Dish Ruffle Northwood Poppy Variant
Lovely late Victorian receiving dish manufactured by Northwood Glass Company. The color is an emerald green with intricate design of flowers and leafs, and a poppy center. The pattern on the piece has been called by many names: Poppy, Poppy Variant, and Poppy Scroll. The dish has scalloped pointed edges and ruffled.
Measurements approximately 7 inches wide and 2 inches tall
Northwood glass was made by one of the glassmaking companies operated by Harry C. Northwood. His first company, Northwood Glass Co., was founded in Martins Ferry, Ohio, in 1887 and moved to Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, in 1892.
