Antique Victorian Large Hand Carved Shell Cameo Habillé Brooch/Pendant 14k/10k with Diamond and Filigree Frame This lovely Victorian/Nouveau carved shell “habillé” or "dressed" cameo depicts a beautiful goddess, most likely Aphrodite with a diamond necklace. The Victorians were less concerned with mythological accuracy, instead requiring their cameos to follow the aesthetic of Romanticism. This charming example is large and skillfully executed, a true treasure. Note: Though the yellow gold clasp on the back is stamped 14k, I believe the frame is 10k white gold. Measurements:  1 11/16" W x 2 1/8" H x 9/16" D 13.8 g Condition:  Good vintage condition with the filigree frame intact, but with minor dents present in two spots. The clasp works well, although the pin is slightly bent,. The shell cameo is securely seated in its frame, along with the diamond and gold chain elements. Normal wear for age and use.
