Antique Nippon Japan hand-painted footed porcelain rice bowl with a delicate floral pattern of pink roses and white flowers, accented by green leaves and gold trim. This floral motif encircles the interior rim of the bowl, which is bordered by a pale yellow band with a fine gold line. The bowl rests on three small round feet.
The underside of the bowl has a blue mark indicating it is "Hand Painted" and "Nippon." This suggests the bowl is of Japanese origin and was made during the period when Japan was exporting such items with the "Nippon" mark, which was used until around 1921.
This bowl is a fine example of early 20th-century Japanese porcelain, and its hand-painted design and Nippon marking make it a collectible item.
It is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
Size in inches: 5.25D x 2 3/8
It can be used as a serving bowl, decorative piece, jewelry or trinket holder, crafting or potpourri holde.
