Antique Ketcham & Mcdougall Mechanical Pencil Brooch Retractable Lead Gold Tone

Antique Ketcham & Mcdougall Mechanical Pencil Brooch Retractable Lead Beaded Gold Tone c 1910 Originally used as a decorative ornament for dance cards, a lady would use it to note her upcoming dances at a social event. Complete with lead, this one is ornamented with beading in a clover pattern and can still be used if you want the practical benefit in the form of jewelry. A cool ice breaker. The back reads: "Ketchum Mcdougall / New York / Pat. Feb. 24 '03 / Apr. 26 '10". Measurements:  4 5/8" L x 1" W x 3/8" D Condition:  Very good antique condition. The pencil cord uncoils completely and can retract completely after a few gentle pulls to encourage the mechanism to pull it back in. Then pin swings out well and fastens back into place. The pencil can still push out extra lead by holding the ball and and twisting. The brooch appears to have a lot less patina than the pencil, although there are signs of age and use (small scuffs etc.) on both. Please review all photos carefully.
