Antique Majolica Basket Weave Covered Square Box Flower Bud Handle ceramic

This is an exceptionally beautiful majolica box with a Rose as its handle on its lid, circa 1850-1899 Time Period and Collectible! This particular Majolica Basket Weave box is Made in Japan - believed to be occupied Japan. It is a blue Ombre Fade to Brown/Gold with a Pink Flower on top of Lid. Made in Japan Stamped on Bottom. It is in very good condition for its age, with no visible chips on the box itself. However, one flower petal has broken off in half during it's ownership. The dimensions are 4.5“ Tall to top of Flower 5.5“ square. Like most antique majolica, it has some crazing and discoloration especially inside the box. Please disregard the lighting glares. Majolica ware is a type of pottery that was popular in the Victorian era. It is known for its bright colors and intricate designs.
