Antique Meiji period Japanese Bronze fish Basket Inkwell HAND MADE

Antique Meiji Period Japanese Bronze Fish Basket Inkwell Dating from the Meiji Period (1868 to 1912), this exquisite inkwell features a fishing basket brimming with a fresh catch, including fish, crab, octopus, and lobster. The bronze, copper, and brass craftsmanship is outstanding, with a beautifully woven antique brass wire forming the basket. It includes the original glass ink cup insert and has a sturdy hinge on the lid. Dimensions: Width: 2 5/8" (6.8 cm) Height: 2" (5.1 cm) In used condition, it exhibits some minor wear consistent with its age and gentle use. There is a blemish on one side of the artifact, it appears to have been soldered to fix an imperfection in the brass weave.
