Antique Oversized LEATHER Express Mail Postal Registered Pouch Money Bag SCARCE

👉 WE DO NOT HAVE THE KEY! 🔑 19th Century LEATHER express mail bag or oversized money pouch. Scarce, especially in a large size. Believe late 1800s, or early 1900s Used by Wells Fargo & others via stagecoach & railroads. Financial institutions were dependent for deliveries of $, goods, services, financial papers & all services. This was carried along w/Wells Fargo style strong boxes; often had more valuables than the box itself! Flap is secured w/strap running thru loops on front. Strap attaches to a loop on the back w/a *padlock. Rugged, w/numerous rivets. Reddish brown w/expected fading. Leather in good condition for the age in our opinion & quite flexible. Telltale age cracks & marks w/wear. Would benefit from a visit to a leather pro to soften, condition & protect the aged original antique. Would look in place on a frontier stagecoach or onboard an early steam train. Despite all the heavy loads this pouch has surely carried, even the bottom is still well attached. Esti 28”H w/o the handle, 31.5” with. 18.5”W. If you have a blacklight - look for old Co marks/stamps that may no longer be visible to the naked eye. Likely marked, but faded. *PADLOCK marked RY. EX.
