Absolutely stunning antique vest, handmade in Pakistani, circa 1920-30s.
The deepest shade of blood red velvet, heavy with gold ribbon work and embroidery. There are patches of purple fabric within the pattern that have faded to a beautiful shade of dusty lavender, with remnants of delicate beadwork.
The vest is in very good antique condition, with wear as expected from the age of the piece. The handmade origin of the garment is evident, all seams and sewing are visible on the inner silk lining. There are a few worn spots on the inside, but none of these small holes go all the way through the garment (the velvet and embroidery are much too thick for that!) - as pictured, there is evidence of beadwork, most of which appears to be missing. The remaining threads are loose and should be handled with care to ensure that the rest remains as intact as possible.
