Antique Pre-Civil War Ironstone China Tea Set 11 Pc Biscuit Jar Pitcher Tea Cups

Gorgeous 11 piece antique ironstone tea set includes a biscuit/cookie jar with a handled lid, a creamer pitcher, and eight (8) tea cups from the pre-Civil War time period. The ironstone pieces were produced by Livesley Powell & Company, Stoke-on-Trent, between 1845-1866. These lovely pieces are trimmed in gold lustre. The octagonal paneled biscuit jar measures approximately 7.75" with its lid (5" without), 5" in diameter, and features a handle on each side of the bowl. The lid sits nicely on the jar and features painted accents around the handle in copper gold lustre. The lid has one minor chip inside the lid. The jar has no chips or cracks. Livesley Powell & Company mark impressed within a rectangular cartouche on the base "Ironstone - China - Livesley Powell." The creamer pitcher stands 5.25" tall and 5" wide from the tip of the spout to the edge of the handle. The gold lustre trim on the pitcher is immaculate and the pitcher is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. The eight tea cups all measure 3.75" in diameter at their rim and stand 3" tall. All the pieces have some crazing under the glaze and some pieces are stained (especially the cups). Most of the cups have very minor chips from use over the years but no cracks. Beautiful antique collector's tea set.
