Depression-era hand-painted floral aster blossom pattern over an originally red (now appears orange-red) background, solid stoneware ear-handled crock with lid, marketed as the signature Ransburg cookie jar. Marked RANSBURG/Genuine/Hand Painted/Indianapolis/USA inside the paint palette design. Approx 9.5” tall (with lid), 7” wide at handle height Weighs approx 5.12 lbs No bundling with this item, please. This item is in excellent structural condition; no cracks or chips, very clean. There is paint loss typical of its age. In my view, the evidence of aging contributes to its appeal. The hand-painted flowers shine brightly still, showing the texture of each brushstroke made nearly 100 years ago. Gorgeous.
