Antique Rare Carl Schneider German Bisque Piano Baby Girl 1880 Numbered & Marked

Beautiful German bisque piano baby produced circa 1879-1886 by Carl Schneider. Her delicately painted features and the raised accent pearls are exquisitely mastered. She is in fine condition without any chips or cracks. She measures about 7 1/2” x 5”. Colors used were soft baby pink, pale sage green, pale sky blue, soft pale flesh with warm rose tints and some gold accents. Piano babies were in Victorian homes and used as decorative pieces to hold down piano scarves. Obviously a luxury since most homes would not afford a piano. Today, piano babies are a sweet treasure from the past that can be given as newborn baby gifts, decor in the nursery or in the traditional manor. B9
