Antique Signed Japanese Shimazu Satsuma Late Meiji Koro

Very rare, late Meiji period, signed Shimazu clan, Satsuma incense burner / censer / Koro. Features a hexagonal shape, gilded komainu / lion of Buddha finial, straight gold handles, gold tripod legs, beautiful crackle finish over a cream and tawny colored background, in addition to extensive gold gilding details. Colors typical of the period are in full display including red, orange, yellow, blue, green, and pink. The piece depicts a 360 degree, hand-painted natural landscape, with front, central birds and ubiquitous flowers.
