Antique Silk Floral Embroidered Cape Masonic Robe French MC Lilley Scottish Rite This piece was acquired from a collection of regalia that was used by the Scottish Rite Temple of Fort Scott, Kansas. Manufactured by the MC Lilley company of Ohio. The tag is not legible, but it is the same tag used in other robes in my collection. Please search the Masonic robes in my eBay store to see what a complete tag looks like. I am not sure which character or role would have worn this vestment, perhaps a priest or other important religious figure. Material has SIGNIFICANT wear from age a storage. The cream colored floral trim and the interior lining have disintegrated quite visibly. The blue floral material is contrastingly in much better shape with little to no visible disintegration. There are two hook and eye closures on the neckline Measures 92” in length measuring the “flat” edge side. This piece would make a great display piece, but would not be a candidate for other uses.
