This plate is one to inspire Fishes Eddy, the ceramic store in NYC that collaborates with artists and often highlights cities around the United States. Or maybe you’d like to be inspired and add this to your collection.
This is an antique collector’s plate featuring six Boston landmarks (7 if you count the baked beans!)
The coloring is wonderful and so are the thoughtful details. Zoom in and admire the details on the flowers scattered about and the intricate floral design along the edge of the plate. There’s even a small framed image of a bean crockpot with Boston baked beans in it. Boston is called Beantown because of its famous baked beans dish made legendary from the time of the first settlers (the Native American Indians taught the settlers how to cook it!)
The Old State House, State House, Bunker Hill monument, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church/Paul Revere and finally the Public Library are highlighted. It’s hand painted, hand lettered, and the details are really special.
Approximately 7.25” in diameter.
There are two small holes on back to allow you to hang it up if you wish. It also says Victoria Austria and the number 273 on back.
