Antique Sterling Silver Venetian Glass Mexican FCP Eagle 2 Cocktail Ring sz 7 US

The glass is set in a smooth bezel & framed with twisted rope appliqué and fine filigree design. Mid-weight band. split shank. •The Mexico eagle mark dates this ring to the 1940's to early 50's •Condition: Very good vintage condition (nearly 100 yrs old!) •There is natural patina. The filigree is in very good condition with only a few very minor dents to the design (see pix) •Because this is a genuine antique I do not plan on cleaning the ring beyond a rinse & cloth polish. Personal preferences vary greatly for the amount of patina on vintage jewelry. •Size: The band size is 7 US. The setting is 1" x 7/8". •Hallmark: Mexico, Eagle Mark 2, FCP, 925 Vintage Mexico sterling silver ring featuring a large vintage Venetian glass cabochon. Resembling larimar, this Venetian glass bead was most likely made in Murano. (The sparkly gold and copper colored decoration often found in Murano glass is called "Avventurina" or "Aventurine" in English) The art glass cabochon is beautifully framed with two large silver drops highlighting each of the pointed tips. The face of the ring is 5/8" W X 11/8"L Inside the band, it's marked MEXICO 925 FCP and has an eagle assay stamp with a 2 inside the eagle outline.
