Transferware refers to the Aesthetic movement where China and pottery pieces looked more like they had a printed fabric on them, verses a hand painted piece. This movement began in the 1860s which donned the term "art for arts sake" and were simply composed of nature, craftsmanship, and simple beauty. This is a wonderful piece of art and history to own and would be great for collectors.
Truly a unique and beautiful piece.
