Beautiful artwork on this lidded cake tin, enriched with a natural patina due to age.
The art displays a fashionable Colonial woman surrounded by a ring of children as she presents the Christmas holiday fruitcake, presumably the same product originally packaged in this tin.
Tindeco, a Baltimore tin factory, produced this tin no later than 1935 (when bought by a glass company), but likely somewhere in the early 1920’s when retro colonial style was trending.
This particular image can be found on NBC Uneeda tins (later named Nabisco), but my research implies those tins were not produced until the 30’s, making this Tindeco tin a true original.
Approx 10” diameter, 3.75” tall
Lid fits tight; obvious paint loss/scratching/small dents. Remarkably little rust for its age.
