Antique Cast Iron Figural Brighton #3 Tobacco Cutter Dimensions: approximately 10"L x x 7 1/2"T x 3" W. Age: 1880's - 1900's Manufacturer: Brighton Metal Company. History: Brighton made tobacco plug cutters from the late 1800's to early 1900's and sold the majority to merchants. This Cutter: This cast iron plug cutter is called the 'Imp' named for the ornate imp riding the handle and thumbing his nose at the user. The maker, Brighton 3, is clearly seen on the handle. Country of Manufacture: United States.
I believe the "imp" was painted black as you can see several red spots in the photos.
