Antique Victorian Celluloid Fraternal Fist Bump Pin Whitehead & Hoag Co 1890s

This is an antique Victorian Whitehead & Hoag Co. fraternal secret handshake (fist bump) pin, patented in 1893. The shaped frame is brass and the front panel is domed celluloid with a lithograph of two hands in a fraternal fist bump. Whitehead & Hoag Co. also made pins showing a handshake, which is more common. Fraternal pins showing the fist bump are more rare. This pin would have been used by Oddfellow, Masonic, or other fraternal organizations. The pin is marked THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. ; PAT. OCT 18.92; MAR 17.93 on the back and has two pins.
