motherhenalaska Very pretty. This would have been an expensive dress to make. While the lace was not handmade, it was in the early days of machine made lace and therefore was not cheap. It was the latest in technology and therefore expensive. If I am correct, it is supposed to look like tatted lace. My great grandmother tatted and tried to teach me but being left handed, I kept getting the loop on the wrong side of the thread and it became a knot. She got fed up with me and wouldn’t teach me anymore!
