Antique Wedgwood Lynn Cake Sandwich Plate Blue and White Platter With Gilding

is a stylish ANTIQUE WEDGWOOD EARED LYNN CAKE / SANDWICH PLATE. This pattern was introduced in 1908 and discontinued in 1920. The cake plate has a white background ground and is hand applied, transfer printed. It has a wide cobalt blue rim pattern runs around the sloping part of the plate forming a frame. Intricate and pretty little four petalled flowers contained in a diamond frame in a repeating pattern (four motifs deep). There is a pause to the detail, then it continues with a fleur de lys style border under the wide border. The dished part of the plate is plain white. To finish the pattern is a circle in the centre, incorporating both previous details and in addition, a central pattern comprising of four spade outlines, touching a central circle with a dot inside. There are also dots beside each spade. Please see the images, which bring the pattern to life. The plate has a gilded borderline on the edge of the plate. It has relief detail the the ears or handles, which are tipped with gilding. To the underside of the plate you will see the Wedgwood urn backstamp in green, together with Made in England. The plate measures approximately 10 1/2" measured from the edge of one handle to the other. The other sides measure approximately 10” The cake plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration
