Whitney Fountain Pen Co., Cleveland, Ohio. Whitney Safety Pen Co. Whitney Richards Co. Cleveland, Ohio USA Company was in business by 1897, and seems to have lingered perhaps until the early teens. R. W. (Ruel William) Whitney was apparently a bit of a scholar. In 1903 the Imperial Press of Cleveland published his “newly paraphrased” version of Omar Khayyám’s Rubalyat. On the cap there are 3 rings of gold on the base. On top of the gold cap is a gold ring. For the avid pen collector, we have real rarity. On the nib: BONDED WHITNEY CLEVELAND OHIO (Gold Nib) 4 1/2" Long. This pen is a rare item and will make a great addition to anyone's vintage fountain pen collection. This pen is sold as is.
