Antique Willow Ware Round Platter.

1x round Willow Ware plater/plate by J&MBP&Co. a manufacturer from Glasgow England The plate is 10 1/2", white with blue transfer of 'Willow' pattern. Printed on base: J & M P B & Co. This mark was used by Bell's of Glasgow between 1850 and 1870. Ceramic manufacturers, Glasgow. Established 1842 by brothers John and Matthew Perston Bell, initially producing kitchen wares. By the 1860s they were producing popular decorative wares and developed a thriving export trade, especially to South East Asia. Bell’s produced a vast range of transfer printed china which became extremely popular with middle class families from the West of Scotland. Equally, wares were exported worldwide. The Pottery was in production until 1912. Condition - The decoration is extremely crisp and bright and apart from a little sign of crazing to the glaze and a little staining to the base there are no discernible signs of cracks or losses. Plate 10 1/2" white with blue transfer. Plate has flea bites and some staining please see pictures. No cracks.Great condition for age.
