Antique girls sheer dress cream with flowers

Antique or older vintage little girls semi sheer dress. A slip would need to be worn underneath. Material is cotton blend maybe? In decent condition for its age. Does have staining on back, see photos, but front is very presentable. No odors and has been hand washed. From smoke free home. Back has button closure and is missing buttons. If I had to guess this would fit a child aged 2-4 best. This looks to be a home made dress. Probably from the 1940s or earlier.
