Exquisite and rare sterling silver punch bowl ladle by esteemed silversmith Gorham, pattern H29, from the late 1800s. The ornate handle features Bacchus (the Roman god of wine and agriculture), a ram’s head, a medallion (that can be engraved), and grapes. The sterling mark, plus lion and anchor and H29 pattern number, are stamped on the handle’s back side. This ladle, in excellent condition given its age, was owned and lovingly cared for by my grandmother and then my mom. Can be used for display, or even for a bowl of stuffing on a holiday table. Dimensions: approximately 16” L (handle), silver bowl 4.5” W. (Punch bowl is for display purposes and not included.)
