Isn't it supposed to turn orange or red for sterling silver? I've done it a few times and it turns an orangy red! So, I'm a little confused!

@phoenix_rose83 no it isn't supposed to make the scratch disappear. if it disappears after u apply the liquid then the acid and the metal that was scratched and it is fake.
I've never had a scratch turn orange or red unless it was fake and tested for copper.

@vintage2mintage No, that's for gold! What you just explained is the exact process to test for gold! It even says on the bottle in your listing 18KG!

@phoenix_rose83 that’s a jewelers trick. The most definitive to test sterling silver is with 18k gold testing fluid/ I’ve been selling jewelry for over ten years. Look it up and ask anyone else lol. Trust me hun I know how to test and I assure u this is sterling

@phoenix_rose83 it is the same process for gold and sterling and platinum etc .
