The front two panels are sheer, and the back panel is sheer while the sleeves, placket, back yoke, and waistband are made of a tight knit. This cardigan was purchased at Dillard's; and worn once to a wedding. It is very pretty and worked perfectly for layering with my dress. Because it is sheer it didn't distract from my dress but rather complimented it and allowed the dress to show through.
