I'm going to be moving to Downtown Chicago in June, my boyfriend got a job near the Merchandise mart and we want an apartment near there. We want it to be downtown, preferably in the River North Area. Looking for any of you ladies that live downtown or have! I wanted to know if anyone knew of nice apartments that aren't over $1700 a month! I'm just unfamiliar with the areas. Let me know if you've had a good experience in a certain place! Thank you 💓

staceyv07 @punkyprincess82 awesome! We are heading to Chicago tomorrow to look at apartments. I'm just new to the area. I was born in Berwyn but left when I was 6 so I don't remember Chicago even though I've been there sooo much! Do you recommend any apartments downtown? I feel like when I loom online they are all very deceiving.

punkyprincess82 God Berwyn turned into a dump believe it or not!!! It really depends on the price you guys are looking for and what area. I can recommend some really nice areas, Lincoln Square, Bucktown, Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, and anywhere along the Lakefront, but my brothers 1 bedroom tiny condo he rents for 1400 which is dead smack in the middle of downtown so unless you have buku bucks to spend I'd stay away. The best thing about Chicago is the public transportation. The el trains and bus's can get you ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE esp when your trying to save $ on rent. When I was in Lincoln Square I was paying $1350 for a small 2 bedroom with a small kitchen and balcony. If youd like you can email me valeriemunday at gmail

staceyv07 @punkyprincess82 yeah I recently went back to Berwyn and it's not what it used to be.. So sad.. I lived in Cicero too and I'm not gonna go back there to visit the old house lol.. But we wanna live downtown since my bf has to be to work so early. We don't want to go over $1700 a month. Preferably by the merchandise mart. We live in a small condo now so we don't mind it being too small but not micro tiny haha. Do you recommend getting rid of both our cars? I've been told they're just a hassle to own if you're living downtown.

punkyprincess82 OMG downtown YES GET RID OF CARS or keep one. People rent out parking spaces for $500-1k it's crazy now a days!! What part of Michigan are you in? My hubs is from Detroit but moved to Chicago then Cali about 8 yrs ago!

punkyprincess82 $1700 is going to be micro tiny but you will or better have a awesome view !!! But still. I would have lived downtown in a heartbeat if it weren't for the prices of living space and the as you stated micro mini condos lol.
