SET OF TWO Serving Pieces in the iconic, modernist stoneware pattern designed by Ulla Procopé for Arabia Finland in 1960. The Ruska tableware series is famous for being the first matte glaze design produced by Arabia. Every piece differs slightly in its weight and brown glaze tone, giving each a handmade appearance and rustic characteristics.
These handsome serving pieces coordinate so seamlessly with a range of patterns, particularly but not exclusively other mid century or studio pottery stoneware. (Same Model S design shapes as several other prized Arabia patterns, including Kosmos). Ideal as a pair for serving chips & dip, crackers & cheese, or crudite—or use separately for an entree and side dish!
Included in the Set of Two:
+ One Round Platter | Chop Plate: 13 1/8” diameter by 1 1/8” height (3 lbs 6 oz)
+ One Round Serving Bowl | Vegetable Bowl: 7 3/8” diameter by 2.5” height (1 lb 9 oz)
CONDITION: Excellent. Free of stains, chips, or cracks. Note that this series is styled like studio pottery: thus, variations in tones are expected.
NOTE: The two together exceed the 5 lbs Posh shipping weight - seller pays extra shipping fees. No bundling.
ULLA PROCOPE (1921–1968) was one of the most prolific Finnish ceramic designers of the Golden Age of Finnish Design. She worked for Arabia until 1966.
