@dianebranton The shoulder straps can be seen in these pictures. They adjust the hip to shoulder length if that is what you are asking about. Besides that Arcteryex sells different sizes and this is a small. Let me know if you have additional questions!

@carisadwyer this is probably too big of a backpack for a 12 year old, you should look for something around 40-50 L unless you’re looking to backpack for 10-14 days at a time
