IYKYK: The Arc’teryx Alpha SV is a bombproof waterproof jacket designed to be used in the harshest conditions. It has an articulated design, pit zips, watertight zippers and harness-compatible pockets, and is made from durable, waterproof 3L GORE-TEX PRO fabric. Retail was $800, bought straight from Arc’teryx; newest version is $900. This jacket has gone on some epic trips and has staining from those adventures, but it hasn’t been worn much at all since it doesn’t fit me anymore. The performance and technical capabilities of this jacket are still really high, and it has a lot of life left (the inside of the jacket looks pristine). No issues with zippers, no flaws with drawcord, all sealed seams are intact. If you want a high-viz jacket but don’t care about looks so much as performance, this would be a great fit for you.
