Art Deco Unusual Essex Crystal Clip

Very popular in the 1930s era, we find this type of bubble glass crystals with hand painting underneath the glass, showing different themes of animals, golfers, and horseback riding. Usually made for men as cufflinks, buttons or bar ties, and for women earrings, bracelets and other types of jewelry. This one is very different, being a clip, but also unusual is the little painting was put into polished plastic Lucite showing all kinds of inclusions intended to imitate a natural stone. I have never seen another one like it. I would say in very good condition for the age with some minimal wear to the round metal frame around the painting and the clip on the reverse is a bit askew. It is very pretty and very, very different and it measures about 1 ¼” in either direction. It can be used by men or women, but likely was made as a dress clip, circa 1930s.
