runthebeads Wow! I love what you are doing! Have they been selling ? I’ll go back and look maybe I ought to send you my bits and pieces that haven’t been put into a necklace yet and have you make a piece, for me ! People seem afraid of my pieces, I think they don’t know what to do with them.

indigo_jazz @runthebeads it's so funny you wrote to me because I was in the shower thinking I really should have put a comment in one of her listings about how cool her things are! I had planned to go back and share more, I was just too dirty from my barn to keep doing it at the moment, LOL. But I love your stuff, it's so original and unique! I didn't read any background because I was in a hurry but do you use old jewelry parts or something is that why you're saying about your bits and pieces?

indigo_jazz @runthebeads, I do enjoy doing custom stuff and when dealing with someone like you who has cool stuff for sale, I'm always open to trading too 😊

indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @runthebeads I do sell them but sometimes it takes a little while and usually it's for less than I really should sell them for, people are really looking for bargains on here and that is true no matter what they're shopping for so sometimes it's hard with things you put a lot of time into.

runthebeads @indigo_jazz I don’t know where you wrote to me but I’m hoping you get this and it makes since. Most of my pieces are made from tiny seed beads, one bead at a time, but I do take apart old necklaces that are given to me by friends and family. Its beads, stones, and pearls that I usually reuse. Sometime metal parts. But I have always loved art and was raised around it. So when I see something different like your work I tend to be drawn to it.

runthebeads My pieces refer to I start making a flower or some other item, I currently have two dragons I’m working on then I think of or get inspired to do something else and there they sit until I come back around to it. Many of my necklaces are made from a collage of different flowers I made to challenge myself but didn’t quite know what to do with them so they sit. And eventually get worked into a necklace to complete it. It’s sort of a 1/2 backwards approach, but it’s been working.

runthebeads How cool that you have a barn! I am currently a city girl, for the most part always have been accept when I visited family. The closest thing I’ve had to having a barn is we’ve had two hens, they were great fun. And right now I feel like I’m living in a barn.

runthebeads We have a cabin we are trying to get ready to live in for retirement, and a couple weeks ago we discovered we have some protected creatures living in it! What a surprise that was. I may make a necklace to honor these little guys. There I go some more bits and pieces Lol!. FYI they are bats, so we are actually in the bat cave!
Jul 10Reply
indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @runthebeads that's too much, bats are cool and they do have a purpose but I will say I don't want them in my house! I do like looking at them in my barn but that's from a distance 😊. That sounds great, retirement in a cabin!

indigo_jazz @runthebeads I cannot imagine working with those tiny beads, I know that's got to be very difficult and require a lot of focus! I love what you do with them, they are truly one of a kind pieces!

runthebeads @indigo_jazz yeah the cabin will be nice and yeah I didn’t open the doors and invite the little critters in it is a little more outdoorsy than I would like in the cabin. But what can I say is it’s an adventure. We are trying to gently evict them. I think they are deciding they would rather be somewhere else. 🤞🏻

zardiva1 Are these random beads and brooches and cabochons and stuff? 🤔 So creative and neat how you arranged them - gorgeous piece! 👍😃😍

indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @zardiva1 yes, thank you very much! I scavenge and collect broken jewelry and loose components and pick up lots of vintage and other pieces as I see them, and eventually work them into pieces of Art 😊

indigo_jazz @zardiva1 and @runthebeads, I know, I keep wondering what's going on with that situation 🤣

runthebeads @indigo_jazz @indigo_jazz well, here’s what has happened, as far as I know anyways, turns out bats aren’t to fond of light, so we left the lights on while we were there, and they seemed to be gone.

runthebeads
runthebeads So I set Alexa to put lights on ten minutes before sun rise and to go off ten minutes after sun rise. Then we went home. I motivated few days after we got home that something went wrong and the lights weren’t coming on.
Jul 30Reply
runthebeads
runthebeads So I messed with Alexa and got it working. When we returned to the cabin we noticed that the bats had returned for a final mini bat bat palooza! I’m assuming because the lights are now functioning just fine and the bats didn’t return. So we had the pest guys out to seal up the eves and everyone is happy!
Jul 30Reply
indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @runthebeads great! did someone tell you the trick about the lights or was it just luck?
Jul 30Reply
runthebeads
runthebeads @indigo_jazz just lucked out we left the lights on and they didn’t come so that’s when we put the Alexa lights in. Ill check back in later I’m kind of in the middle of another situation! The joys of life! Talk soon.

runthebeads I hope you understood what I was saying auto correction has to pop up in strange places! Lights come on ten minutes before sunset. Anyways I'll give you a update next time we go to the cabin but l think I'm going to try to share the story in my closet. Could be kind of fun! By the way i absolutely love the name of your closet, how did you come up with the name? '
Jul 31Reply
indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @runthebeads I did understand 😊. It's so funny you talk about creating a story and ask about my closet name. I've been told that I need to create a story, I just haven't done it yet. Jazz is my pet cow. He's Angus (so a bluish black) 😊 I do animal rescue. Saw a newborn laying in a field orphaned, climbed a fence to check him out and his eyes were all white, he was blind....

indigo_jazz @runthebeads ...Short version: Begged the farmer to let me take him to get him vet care, Mom wouldn't separate from her herd to care for him and he couldn't see to follow her. He laid in 105" direct sunlight and was covered in flies. After 9 months of extreme care, many medications, and several hospitalizations, he got sight back, they thought his vision would be really compromised but I swear he can see fine because I can be silent and very far away doing something and he zeros right in on me!

indigo_jazz
indigo_jazz @runthebeads ... When I brought him home he was able to be picked up and put in a horse trailer; now he's about 2,000 lb, 3 years later 😊. But he still thinks I'm his mother, LOL. I've got a lot of others too but he's the 1st and only cow.
Jul 31Reply
runthebeads
runthebeads @indigo_jazz wow that’s great that you were able to save him and that he got his eyesight back. So he’s a bull? I might be a little afraid of him, although sounds like he’s a gentle soul. I was chased by cows when I was a kid. I’m sure I’d get over the fear because I love animals also. How many and what kind of animals do you have?
