Red Silk Pajama, hand embroidered Asian, perhaps Chinese designer in vintage era. The set comes with pair of sleepers in gorgeous red. Pieces of history. red top, bottom nested in a red silk case made of cardboard, fairly hold and soft. The interior of the case is of white cotton. w closure & handle, imperfect for being vintage. faded for staying in the case for long. The box has a cute small mirror, and a pocket to for keepsake small items. The sleepers hasn't been worn, box is faded , Pajama top is faded. Gold embroidered dragon are stunning. Size small. minasanageyama @miyita89 These are vintage Asian "pajamas" commonly sold to tourists or soldiers during WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War while stationed in Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. This box set of Chinese samfu-inspired "pajamas" were frequently brought back home by men as gifts to their wives/girlfriends, mothers and sisters.

minasanageyama @miyita89 There's a whole history on how the exchange of these exact styles of pajamas influenced fashion designers from the 50s into the 70s in incorporating Asian motifs and patterns in modern U.S and European fashions of those eras.
