Very unique and beautiful Phantom Chevron Auralite 23 Amethyst Cob from Thunder Bay, Ontario. This piece was hand selected by me during my October 2024 visit to a Thunder Bay Auralite 23 Amethyst mine. Auralite 23 Amethyst is mined in Thunder Bay only, it was first discovered in 2007. The stone is estimated to have formed about 1.5 billion years ago, after meteoric impacts brought rare metallic ore to the surface, dissolving into the structures of the growing Amethyst Crystal. Auralite Crystals are organized layers of Phantom Chevrons consisting of Citrine, Amethyst & Green Quartz. Most pieces have Record Keepers. The Auralite 23 name is derived from the Aurora Borealis and the 23 minerals that are contained within the chemical composition of this stone.
