Edwardian art nouveau brooch made in Austria by Franz Goldstein.
Beautiful and rare piece, created in Vienna Austria by the jeweler Franz Goldstein, back in the 1905. This exquisite brooch has been crafted during the Edwardian period with art nouveau patterns in solid platinum .900/.999. Fitted at the reverse with a hinged pin bar and a trombone lock made up in white gold of 14 karats. The back part of the brooch is fully decorated with incised and cisseled organic patterns and two pins to hold the rock quartz carving.
Rock quartz: The main element is 1 flower carefully carved from natural translucent rock quartz with frosted finish.
Diamonds: Mounted in a millegrain setting, with 35 old European rose cut diamonds, 1.05 carats, white colorless F/G, VS-2/SI-1 clarity.
Pearls: The pistils of the flower are mount with 3 natural round white pearls of 3 mm.
Weight: 22.95 Grams, (14.71 Dwt).
Measurements: 42 mm by 39 mm (1.65 x 1.53 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with Austrian marks; the maker's mark FG associated to Franz Goldstein inside a cartouche, the platinum assay mark PL, the gold assay mark .585 and the mark for the city of Vienna W.
