Beautiful vintage possibly silk-synthetic blend kimono from Japan in a subtle tan or beige with a slightly grey undertone. This kimono depicts a unique and modern take on the traditional karakusa (arabesque) motif with floral and gold accents. The fabric feels more rough, typical of chirimen fabric. Note that there is significant and large staining on the sleeves, around 2” long, one close to the right neck hemline (see close up), as well as on the front lower left-hand side of the kimono, the largest of which is around 3” long. These are very apparent up close. The gold embroidery is also slightly damaged, but not noticeable from a distance. Priced accordingly. I recommend spot cleaning whenever possible. Handwashing is okay, but may affect the texture of the fabric. Dry cleaning may damage the gold embroidery--please check with professional if cleaning is necessary. Perfect for collectors of Japanese textiles and fashion enthusiasts alike.
Measurements (approx):
22” pit to pit
23” neck to sleeve hem
58.5” length
45.5” sleeve to sleeve
Silk burn test (last two photos):
Both the outer shell and lining passed the burn test as it smolders and flames up very minimally from a visual standpoint. However, the smell is just slightly rubbery. My best guess is that it is a mix of majority silk and synthetic fibers.

@lacouda hello can I confirm "sleeve to sleeve" measurement of 45.5" is the traditional yoki measurement (centre back seam to end of sleeve) doubled? cheers
