epru2869 This isn't a furisode, despite the long sleeves. It's actually an uchikake, a wedding kimono, worn open over a bride's actual kimono on her wedding day! The padded hem helps it drape better, as it is worn trailing on the ground

curious_collect @epru2869 Thanks for your review! So in my research it was hard to pinpoint which Furisode as wedding robes are usually more conservative in colors and with a white or red base or Coming of Age that usually have the style and colors like my robe. I'm reading sometimes brides wear more colorful robe at the reception.

epru2869 @curious_collect depends on the bride and the time period! but the padded hem is the deciding factor. furisode are worn with an ohashori, a tuck about the hips below the obi in order to adjust the kimono to the correct length, and they sometimes might have a bit of batting in the hem just to weigh it down, but not quilted like this. with uchikake, they've always got that padded hem
